Anti-Bullying Training Modules
The School Board of Broward County has one of the nation’s first comprehensive Anti-Bullying Policy 5.9. The policy was designed by the District’s Office of Prevention Programs and Student Support Services, under the Safe Schools Healthy Students Grant initiative to help ensure all of our students and staff can feel safe and respected while attending school.
The policy sets forth guidelines for the identification and reporting of bullying as well as a timeline for the investigation and appeals process. It requires teachers and staff to utilize a variety of prevention and intervention activities and includes tools and resources that create environments of safety and respect and expectations of appropriate behavior. One of the most effective prevention tools outlined within the Policy requires schools to annually train their staff, students and parents on anti-bullying and reporting procedures. These mandatory training modules are below, and consist of a video which can stand alone or be paired with a power point presentation. The District has shown excellent success in getting the training modules out as demonstrated in Broward County Public School’s 15th Annual Customer Survey.
