Model Schools
The Broward County Public School’s Office of Prevention has applied for and received the exciting Character Across the Curriculum and Beyond Grant. It is designed to enhance character education curriculum at 8 randomly selected Broward Country middle schools.
The program will assist school staff in integrating the current “Character –The Core of Our Lives” curriculum into classroom instruction; align the Character Education (CE) curriculum to be consistent with Sunshine State Standards; and ensure that all are carried out in conjunction with Middle School Reform Efforts and the 7 correlates of effective learning. This enhanced CE program will also address and enhance student, parent and community involvement in the character education efforts.
The 8 randomly chosen model middle schools are Bair, Coral Springs, Driftwood, Falcon Cove, Indian Ridge, Millennium, New Renaissance, and Pompano Beach. Look how they show their school spirit surrounding character centered activities below:
