Calendar of Observances

The Office of Prevention’s Calendar of Prevention Observances was created to share known prevention, health, and wellness related dates of significance – both nationally and internationally.   These dates can provide great jumping off points for prevention related meetings, trainings, community events, schoolwide/classroom initiatives, lesson plans, or conferences which help to promote prevention on a year round basis.

This calendar lists the dates of observance in three ways: month long, week long, and single day observances.  When planning, keep in mind  many topics have a month, week, AND a day that is dedicated to a similar theme.  Utilize the links within the calendar to access lessons, activities, membership drive ideas, and public awareness promotional websites to help make your efforts successful.  Information appearing on this calendar does not represent an endorsement by the Office of Prevention and we play no role in naming national health observances.  Check directly with the sponsoring entity to confirm the exact date of the observance as they may change year to year.
