Positive Parenting

Parenting.  There is no job in the world where you work such long hours, receive so little pay, and get thrown up on as much.  Being a parent brings new meaning to the slogan, “Be all you can be”!

Still, all of us a parents, want to raise our children to be the happy and healthy.  That is where the concepts and skills Positive Parenting can help.

Positive Parenting is made up of TWO key ingredients:

1) Human Connection and
2) Discipline

WHY is it important to learn these skills?  Because for better for worse, as parents, “It’s all About ME!”   We are the ones in control of our homes and we set the tone, create the climate, and hold the power to ensure our children’s success.  But this can be truly challenging for many of us who were not raised by parents who used the skills we hope to teach our children.   To be an effective parent can never become complacent – it is our children’s JOB to test us, and it is OUR job to be one step ahead.  They can throw us a curve, we may swing and strike, but we will always be able to have a comeback.

Join Office of Prevention for a workshop on Positive Parenting and find out:

1. What does it mean to be a Positive Parent?

2. How can I increase my Connection with my child? and

3. What are the most effective ways to Discipline?

Office of Prevention celebrates parents, who are the TRUE originators of prevention.  They work tirelessly, and often fail to see the fruits of their labor for years if not decades.   Positive Parenting is like planting a seed or slowly restoring a Van Gough. It may seem irreparable, but with loving care, time, effort and patience, it will become a masterpiece.
