“Bring your work back to the workshop twenty times. Polish it continuously, and polish it again.” Nicholas Boileau quotes (French poet and literary critic, 1636-1711)
The Office of Prevention provides numerous workshops and trainings related to the four strands of prevention. Any community member, professional or District personnel interested in expanding their (or their staff’s) prevention knowledge can look into
attending. The training format and style vary depending on the audience, but one format we strongly encourage is the ‘train the trainer’ format, where schools, students or agencies can take the information provided and disseminate it through the training of others (participants will receive any information/materials need to go back to their schools/students/staff/agencies). Training registration is available to Broward County School District employees by going to ESS (Employee Self Service) from the Broward Schools website. Search via keywords or look under Prevention, then determine what workshops are currently scheduled and what you would like to attend (there you can find the time, place, number of In-service available, etc).
If you are an outside agency wanting to register or schedule a workshop, please call Office of Prevention at 754-321-2568 and be connected to the correct training coordinator.
Registration Deadline: One week in advance. Workshop Dates & Locations: SUBJECT TO CHANGE, call the Office of Prevention for the updates.
Individuals with disabilities requesting accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) may call Equal Educational Opportunities (EEO) at (754) 321-2150 or Teletype Machine TTY (754) 321-2158.
