Behavioral and Academic Support Information System (BASIS)

For the 2011-12 school year, the Behavioral and Academic Support Information System (BASIS) tool was launched. BASIS is an enhancement of the District’s Virtual Counselor database. This electronic tool will provide ALL the data needed to drive instruction. BASIS will enhance our continuing efforts to standardize student achievement management processes district-wide and aligned with our Broward Effective Schools Plan, RtI efforts across the district and the Florida Continuous Improvement Model. Student assessment, academic, behavior, and demographic information is centrally located to facilitate fully-informed decision making. Progress Monitoring Tier 1 indicators are automatically updated and provide quick visual evidence of proficiency rates over time. Tracking and monitoring school-wide and individual student performance data, BASIS ensures fully-informed decision making and promote high quality instruction to help all students succeed.
