Children’s Services Council of Broward County

The CSC’s focus is Broward’s children. We are a special government agency created by the voters of Broward County in September, 2000 to provide leadership, coordination and funding for services for and on behalf of children.

Mission Statement: To provide the leadership, advocacy and resources necessary to enhance children’s lives and empower them to become responsible, productive adults through collaborative planning and funding of a continuum of quality care.

Department of Children & Families Substance Abuse & Mental Health Program Office

Mission: Protect the Vulnerable, Promote Strong and Economically Self-Sufficient Families, and
Advance Personal and Family Recovery and Resiliency.

It is the responsibility of the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Program Office of the Department to serve as the local mental health and substance abuse authority and to facilitate the coordination of these services to the community it represents. Central to this mission is the collaboration with all community stakeholders in the planning, implementation and ongoing
assessment of both the needs and services of that community.

Department of Juvenile Justice

Mission: To increase public safety by reducing juvenile delinquency through effective prevention, intervention and treatment services that strengthen families and turn around the lives of troubled youth.

United Way of Broward

The United Way of Broward County Commission on Substance Abuse (UWBCCSA) is a broad based substance use/abuse coalition dedicated to empowering our diverse community to live healthy and drug-free.

Today, its primary role is to serve as a coalition-building organization that brokers partnerships between federal, state and local agencies to foster, develop, and enhance integrated drug-free efforts throughout Broward County, while searching for innovative and effective ways to address the issue of substance use/abuse.
