DPI works to prevent all forms of violence. As part of Broward Human Trafficking Coalition, we work to increase awareness of the human trafficking plague via a multi-tiered prevention and intervention framework as seen in this BCPS Human Trafficking Services document. It affects us all – both internationally and domestically, whether adults or children. Did you know that sex trafficking victims, on average, are first exploited by the age of 13? Did you know that Florida ranks in the top in terms of numbers of people enslaved? Watch this video and find out how Broward ranks. Look below the surface – can you recognize a victims of human trafficking among the people you see every day? Victims of trafficking can be found in: Commercial sex, Domestic servitude (maids,) Sweatshop factories, Construction, Farming or landscaping, Fisheries, Hotel or tourist industries, Panhandling, Janitorial services, Restaurant service, anywhere!

Broward Human Trafficking Coalition
image009DPI is a member of the Broward Human Trafficking Coalition. This coalition is made of Broward County anti-human trafficking advocates and its goal is to raising awareness about and reduce the incidence of human trafficking. The Coalition serves as an information, education, and networking resource for organizations as well as the community. Become an abolitionist! Reporting Suspected Trafficking
If you think you have encountered a victim of human trafficking, call the National Human Trafficking Resource Center, HOTLINE 1-888-373-7888, open 24 hours a day/7 days a week – interpreters available. In cases of emergency, call 911.

If you suspect child trafficking, you can also call 1-800-96-ABUSE.

Anti-Slavery International (ASI)
Look Beneath The Surface The Anti-Trafficking in Persons Program (ATIP) identifies and serves victims of human trafficking, assisting foreign trafficking victims in the United States to become eligible for public benefits and services to the same extent as refugees.
